AB  - “Devil’s Town” is a natural park dominated by broadleaf deciduous trees, and made up of two rare natural phenomena in the world: earthen statues, as specific forms of relief, and two springs of highly acidic water with high mineralization. Devil’s Town is a “biodiversity star” with a unique ambient, flora, fauna, and microbiome. The research aimed to: investigate the concentration of chemical parameters in the soil of the natural park, identify nematodes that can survive in extreme conditions, explore feeding habits of nematodes, and infer phylogenetic relationships of nematodes based on 28S rRNA sequences. Soil samples were collected from two sites, designated Soil under vegetation and Saxon mine soil, from which nematodes were discovered. Phylogenetic analyses were performed with 28S rRNA gene primers, using Maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference. The presence of minerals and heavy metals, combined with high acidity created extreme environmental conditions in which specific nematode species can survive. These circumstances favored fast-moving species with teeth and spears, such as mononchids and dorylaimids, enabling them to adopt predatory feeding behavior. In contrast, Acrobeloides, Prismatolaimus, Rhabditis spp. etc., are saprobionts adapted to specific chemical pollutants, and they tolerate high levels of Pb, Zn, Fe, Cu, Cd and As.

Molecular and morphological detection of globodera rostochiensis (nematoda: Heteroderidae) in a seed potato crop

AB  - Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one of four major food crops in the world beside wheat, maize and rice. The plant
originated in the highlands of Peru particularly the region around Lake Titicaca and it was first domesticated at least 7
000 years ago. The food security provided by potato and maize allowed the development and survival of civilizations
such as, Huari and Inca for centuries. In the 16th century the Spanish conquistadores searching for the "treasure of the
Andes" brought to Europe, beside gold, potato along with its parasites – the potato cyst nematodes (PCN): Globodera
rostochiensis (Wollenweber) Behrens and G. pallida (Stone) Behrens, two nematode species that have quarantine status.
The morphology of potato cyst nematodes was until recently almost the only way to identify these quarantine organisms.
In the last two decades, molecular analyses as new trends in modern agriculture, contributed to faster and more efficient
identification of these species and allowed insight into the genetic structure of those parts that were practically inaccessible
by morphological studies. The nematodes are present in all European potato growing regions, especially in the Balkan
(Helm) peninsula, either PCN or both are reported.
The collected specimens of cysts were found in soil originating from a seed potato crop in a village near Gornji Milanovac
after the official phytosanitary control in 2022. Individual cysts were used for DNA extraction with a Dneasy blood &
tissue kit. The PCR was done with primers for direct sequencing: TW81 and AB28. The ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region of PCN
is used for confirmation of species identity together with its morphological characterization. According to EPPO
Standards, the morphological identification comprised larval and cyst characteristics, namely larval stylet length and stylet
knob shape, cyst vulval basin diameter, distance between vulva and anus, Granek´s ratio, and number of cuticular ridges
in perineal area.
Results confirmed the species identity. The morphology of our population of G. rostochiensis was similar to the previously
reported domestic and foreign populations. The degree of similarity was expressed as a percentage of direct matching i.e.
pairwise distances. Phylogenetic analyses indicated a possible ancestor of our PCN population showing evolutionary
relationships among world populations of G. rostochiensis and a phylogenetic placement of the Serbian population.
AB  - Krompir (Solanum tuberosum L.) je jedan od četiri glavna prehrambena useva u svetu pored pšenice, kukuruza i pirinča.
Biljka potiče iz planinskog pojasa Perua, posebno iz regiona oko jezera Titikaka i prvi put je odomaćena pre najmanje 7
000 godina. Sigurnost u hrani koja je nastala gajenjem krompira i kukuruza je omogućila vekovni razvoj i opstanak
civilizacija kao što su Huari i Inke. U 16. veku su španski osvajači tražeći "blago sa Anda" pored zlata, u Evropu doneli i
krompir zajedno sa parazitnim nematodama-cistolikim nematodama krompira (CNK): Globodera rostochiensis
(Wollenweber) Behrens i G. pallida (Stone) Behrens, dve nematodne vrste koje imaju karantinski status.
Morfologija cistolikih nematoda krompira je do skoro bila jedini način identifikacije ovih karantinskih organizama. U
poslednje dve decenije, molekularne analize kao novi trendovi u modernoj poljoprivredi, su doprineli bržoj i efikasnijoj
identifikaciji ovih vrsta, omogućavajaći uvid u genetičku strukturu onih delova koji su praktično bili nedostupni
morfološkim studijama. Nematode su prisutne u svim evropskim regionima gajenja krompira, posebno na Balkanskom
(Humskom) poluostrvu, pojedinačno ili obe zajedno.
Prikupljeni uzorci cista su pronađeni u zemlji poreklom iz useva semenskog krompira u selu pored Gornjeg Milanovca,
posle zvanične fitosanitarne kontrole. Pojedinačne ciste su korišćene za ekstrakciju DNK sa Dneasy blood & tissue kitom.
PCR je urađen sa prajmerima za direktno sekvenciranje: TW81 and AB28. ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 regioni CNK su korišćeni za
potvrdu identiteta vrste, zajedno sa morfološkom karakterizacijom. Prema EPPO Standardu, morfološka identifikacija
obuhvata karakteristike larvi i cisti, zapravo dužinu i oblik stileta larvi, prečnik vulvalnog bazena cisti, distancu između
vulve i anusa, Granekov odnos i broj kutikularnih nabora u perianalnoj oblasti.
Rezultati su potvrdili identitet vrste. Morfologija naše populacije G. rostochiensis je bila slična prethodno opisanim
domaćim i stranim populacijama. Stepen sličnosti je predstavljen i kao procenat direktnog sparivanja, tj. parne distance.
Filogenetske analize su ukazale na mogućeg pretka naše populacije CNK, predstavljajući evolutivne odnose svetskih
populacija G. rostochiensis i filogenetsko mesto srpske populacije.

Application of lavender and mint essential oils for improvement of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) seed properties

AB  - Essential oils (EOs) are widely studied in agriculture. The study's objective was to examine the impact of EOs on alfalfa
(Medicago sativa L.) seed dormancy. The four different varieties of alfalfa were used for the experiment (Zaječarka-83, Banatska-VS,
K-28, Novosadska H-11). Two essential oils, lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.) and peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) were
applied at four concentrations:1%, 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.02%, along with water as a control. Germination, dormant seeds and dead
seeds were evaluated in a laboratory setting according to ISTA rules. The type of EOs had no discernible influence on germinated
seeds, dormancy, and dead seeds. Both EOs in concentrations of 1% and 0.5% inhibited seed germination. The maximum
germination of 91.66% was achieved with the Novosadska H-11 variety using lavender oil at a concentration of 0.02%, with reduced
dormancy. Varieties Zaječarka-83 and Banatska-VS had the highest level of dead and dormant seeds when lavender and peppermint
EOs were applied at a concentration of 0.2%. This study showed that both EOs at a concentration of 0.02% had a stimulatory effect
on seed germination, simultaneously reducing seed dormancy, emphasizing their potential use for seed quality improvement in
organic farming
AB  - Održiv sistem uključuje korišćenje prirodnih resursa za zaštitu bilja, suzbijanje bolesti, štetočina i korova bez upotrebe sintetičkih
hemikalija. Etarska ulja (EO) su dobro poznati metaboliti koji imaju potencijalnu primenu u poljoprivredi. Cilj studije je bio da se
utvrdi značaj delovanja Eunamirovanje (dormantnost) semenalucerke (Medicago sativa L.).Za ogled je korišćen semenski material
četiri sorte lucerke (Zaječarka-83, Banatska-VS, K-28, Novosadska H-11). Dva EO, lavande (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.) i pitome
nane (Mentha piperita L.) primenjena su na semenu lucerke u četiri koncentracije: 1%, 0,5%, 0,2% i 0,02%, zajedno sa vodom
kaokontrolom. Ulja pitome nane i lavande korišćena u eksperimentu su komercijalna ulja. Klijavost, dormantnost i mrtvo seme su
procenjeni u laboratorijskim uslovima prema ISTA pravilima, u petrijevim posudama na filter papiru. Klijanje je testiran ou komori
za klijanje. Rezultati su pokazali da vrsta EO nije imala značajan uticaj na klijanje semena, mirovanje i mrtvo seme. Koncentracija
ulja je bila najznačajniji faktor koji je uticao na fiziološke karakteristike. Oba ulja u koncentracijama od 1% i 0,5% su inhibirala
klijanje. Maksimalna klijavost od 91,66% je postignuta kod sorte Novosadska H-11 uz korišćenje ulja lavande u koncentraciji 0,02%,
dok se mirovanje smanjilo. Sorte Zaječarka-83 i Banatska-VS su imali najviši nivo mrtvog i dormantnog semena, kada su tretirane
uljem lavande i pitome nane u koncentraciji od 0,2%. Ova studija je pokazala da su oba EO u koncentraciji od 0,02% imala
stimulativni efekat na klijavost semena, i istovremeno smanjila mirovanje semena, naglašavajući njihovu potencijalnu primenu za
poboljšanje kvaliteta semena u organskoj poljoprivredi

organic farming, Održiv sistem uključuje korišćenje prirodnih resursa za zaštitu bilja, suzbijanje bolesti, štetočina i korova bez upotrebe sintetičkih
hemikalija. Etarska ulja (EO) su dobro poznati metaboliti koji imaju potencijalnu primenu u poljoprivredi. Cilj studije je bio da se
utvrdi značaj delovanja Eunamirovanje (dormantnost) semenalucerke (Medicago sativa L.).Za ogled je korišćen semenski material
četiri sorte lucerke (Zaječarka-83, Banatska-VS, K-28, Novosadska H-11). Dva EO, lavande (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.) i pitome
nane (Mentha piperita L.) primenjena su na semenu lucerke u četiri koncentracije: 1%, 0,5%, 0,2% i 0,02%, zajedno sa vodom
kaokontrolom. Ulja pitome nane i lavande korišćena u eksperimentu su komercijalna ulja. Klijavost, dormantnost i mrtvo seme su
procenjeni u laboratorijskim uslovima prema ISTA pravilima, u petrijevim posudama na filter papiru. Klijanje je testiran ou komori
za klijanje. Rezultati su pokazali da vrsta EO nije imala značajan uticaj na klijanje semena, mirovanje i mrtvo seme. Koncentracija
ulja je bila najznačajniji faktor koji je uticao na fiziološke karakteristike. Oba ulja u koncentracijama od 1% i 0,5% su inhibirala
klijanje. Maksimalna klijavost od 91,66% je postignuta kod sorte Novosadska H-11 uz korišćenje ulja lavande u koncentraciji 0,02%,
dok se mirovanje smanjilo. Sorte Zaječarka-83 i Banatska-VS su imali najviši nivo mrtvog i dormantnog semena, kada su tretirane
uljem lavande i pitome nane u koncentraciji od 0,2%. Ova studija je pokazala da su oba EO u koncentraciji od 0,02% imala
stimulativni efekat na klijavost semena, i istovremeno smanjila mirovanje semena, naglašavajući njihovu potencijalnu primenu za
poboljšanje kvaliteta semena u organskoj poljoprivredi",

Rumex crispus L., Galium aparine L., Convolvus arvensis L. as expected, the variability of the number of weed seeds detected from
the seed lots over three years was high: CV% = 14.78 for wild sorghum – S. halepense (L.) Pers. In the 2022, to CV% = 65.47 for
ribwort plantain – Plantago lanceolata L. in the 2020. For the weight of 1000 seeds of the examined weeds, the variability was
determined from CV% = 5.869 for the ribwort plantain – Plantago lanceolata L. (year 2020), to CV% = 34.41 for yellow dock –
Rumex crispus L. (year 2022).
AB  - Lucerka je naznačajnija višegodišnja i višeotkosna krmna leguminoza u Srbiji. Proizvodnja semena je sa brojnim problemima što
uzrokuje visoku varijabilnost za prinos. Jedan od problema u ovoj proizvodnji čine i semena korova koja se nakon ubiranja nalaze u
naturalnom semenu lucerke. Na drugoj strani za stavljanje semena u promet minimalna čistoća semena mora da bude viša od 95 %.
Dozvoljeno je do 2 % drugih vrsta i do 0.5 % korova, ali u semenu lucerke ne smeju da budu prisutni karantinski korovi kao što su:
vilina kosica (Cuscuta spp.). U ovim istraživanjima su predstavljeni rezultati varijabilnosti broja semena i mase 1000 semena
detektovanih korova u naturalnom semenu pet partija semena lucerke sa različitih lokaliteta u Srbiji, tokom tri godine. U naturalnom
semenu lucerke je detektovano seme sledećih korova: Sinapis arvensis L., Amaranthus retroflexus L., Rumex obtusifolius L., Cuscuta
campestris Yunk., Rumex acetosella L., Plantago lanceolata L., Plantago major L., Rumex crispus L., Galium aparine L., Convolvus
arvensis L. Varijabilnost broja semena detektovanih korova bila je visoka za divlji sirak- Sorghum halepense. (L.) Pers. (CV% =

The shape and the size of maize seeds are the most variable traits, which are determined
by a genotype and environmental conditions. The aim of this study was to understand the
effects of the mechanism of the relationship and significance of seed variability on
germination and morphology of seedlings. The seeds of five hybrids ZP388, ZP434,
ZP555, ZP606, and ZP6263 were used in this study. The following seed traits were
analysed: physical ones: seed length (L), thickness (T) and the width (W); morphological
ones: seed weight (SW), seedling length (SLW), root length (RL), shoot length (SL) and
seed germination (G) as a phydiological trait.There are statistically significant differences
not only among physical traits of the seeds of the five hybrids (p≤0.05), but also among
the morphological traits (p≤0.05). Statisticlly significant differences (p≤0.05). in the

width (W), length(L) and thickness (T) of seeds of all hybrids were determined in the
small flat fraction (SP). The large rounded seed fraction (KO) mainly differed in the
width and thickness between hybrids ZP434 and ZP 555, while the large flat seed fraction
differed the most in the length between these two hybrids. Large-flat (KP) seed fractions
are also characterized by the highest germination (99%). As the seed weight increases, the
seedling weight decreases (R2=0.527). Segmentation within hybrids according to the
diversity of morphological and physiological properties of seeds was carried out
according to the seed size, fraction and seedling weight, while the other parameters were
less important. The characteristic of all hybrids is that large seeds of the KP fraction have
high germination and well-developed seedlings.
AB  - Oblik i veličina semena kukuruza su najpromenljivije osobine koje određuju genotip i uslovi
životne sredine. Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio da se sagleda značaj varijabilnosti semena i njen
odnos sa klijavošću semena i morfologijom klijanaca. U radu je korišćeno seme pet hibrida
ZP388, ZP434, ZP555, ZP606 i ZP6263. Analizirane su sledeće osobine semena: fizičke: dužina

Impact of essential oils on seed quality and seed-borne pathogens of Althea officinalis seeds of different ages

AB  - Background The cultivation of medicinal plants is a promising alternative to overcoming problems in the overharvesting
of wild plants and ecosystem degradation. Cultivation depends upon two major factors: seed quality and the
presence of seed-borne pathogens. Organic production of marshmallow plants (Althea officinalis L.) does not allow
for the use of conventional pesticides. This study aimed to find an environmentally safe solution and the equilibrium
between seed germination and the presence of fungal pathogens. The study was performed on a population of
marshmallows which were cultivated for a period of 3 years (2018–2020) in Pančevo, The Republic of Serbia. The following
six essential oils: Origanum vulgare L., Cinnamomum cassia Presl., Ocimum basilicum L., Carum carvi L., Mentha
piperita L., Lavandula angustifolia Mill. at five concentrations (1%, 0.5%, 0.2%, 0.02%, 0.002%) were used for seed
treatment along with water and PEG-40 (emulsifier) as controls. Germination, dormant seeds, dead seeds, abnormal
seedlings and the presence of seed-borne pathogens were determined under laboratory conditions.
Results Among the aforementioned treatments using oregano, cinnamon, basil, caraway, mint, and lavender essential
oils, the most effective treatment resulted with lavender essential oil at a concentration of 0.02% in 3-year-old
seeds. The highest values for seed germination and dead seeds were 46% and 20% in 3-year-old seeds, respectively.
This treatment increased seed germination by 13%, and seedling growth i.e., the growth of seedling stems and radicles
by 24–35%, respectively. It also reduced the presence of seed-borne fungal pathogens from 53 to 100%.
Conclusions The results revealed that an increase in seed germination rate and simultaneous reduction in seedborne
fungal infection was achieved with the lavender essential oil seed treatments. This is the first discovery of the
stimulating effect of lavender essential oil on seed quality parameters. Furthermore, the study demonstrates its potential
application in seed processing in the organic production of marshmallow plants.

abstract = "Background The cultivation of medicinal plants is a promising alternative to overcoming problems in the overharvesting
of wild plants and ecosystem degradation. Cultivation depends upon two major factors: seed quality and the
presence of seed-borne pathogens. Organic production of marshmallow plants (Althea officinalis L.) does not allow
for the use of conventional pesticides. This study aimed to find an environmentally safe solution and the equilibrium
between seed germination and the presence of fungal pathogens. The study was performed on a population of
marshmallows which were cultivated for a period of 3 years (2018–2020) in Pančevo, The Republic of Serbia. The following
six essential oils: Origanum vulgare L., Cinnamomum cassia Presl., Ocimum basilicum L., Carum carvi L., Mentha
piperita L., Lavandula angustifolia Mill. at five concentrations (1%, 0.5%, 0.2%, 0.02%, 0.002%) were used for seed
treatment along with water and PEG-40 (emulsifier) as controls. Germination, dormant seeds, dead seeds, abnormal
seedlings and the presence of seed-borne pathogens were determined under laboratory conditions.
Results Among the aforementioned treatments using oregano, cinnamon, basil, caraway, mint, and lavender essential
oils, the most effective treatment resulted with lavender essential oil at a concentration of 0.02% in 3-year-old
seeds. The highest values for seed germination and dead seeds were 46% and 20% in 3-year-old seeds, respectively.
This treatment increased seed germination by 13%, and seedling growth i.e., the growth of seedling stems and radicles
by 24–35%, respectively. It also reduced the presence of seed-borne fungal pathogens from 53 to 100%.
Conclusions The results revealed that an increase in seed germination rate and simultaneous reduction in seedborne
fungal infection was achieved with the lavender essential oil seed treatments. This is the first discovery of the
stimulating effect of lavender essential oil on seed quality parameters. Furthermore, the study demonstrates its potential
application in seed processing in the organic production of marshmallow plants.",

Three hybrid maize lines were used as material in the study conducted in two consecutive years (2018 and 2019) at one location (Zemun Polje, Belgrade, Serbia). The following parameters were monitored: seed weight (SW), seed volume (V), bulk density (BD), ear length (EL), ear thickness (ET), fraction content and seed yield (MSY). Calibration divided the seed into a small seed fraction of 6.5-8.4 mm (SF) and a large seed fraction of 8.5-11 mm (LF). Seeds smaller than 6.5 mm and larger than 11 mm are presented as seed waste fraction (FW). The average seed yield for all three lines in the first and the second year was 6.13 and 4.66 t ha-1 , respectively. A significant impact of the environment was noticed on seed weights in both years (2018 and 2019), i.e. 327.56 and 251.77 g, respectively. The total variation in yield determined by the morphological characteristics of the seed was R2 =0.514.
AB  - Cilj rada bio je da se oceni uticaj uslova sredine i genotipa na prinos tri linije kukuruza i morfološke osobine klipa. U radu je
korišćeno seme tri linije kukuruza, u dvogodišnjem ogledu izvedenom u 2018 i 2019 godini, na jednoj lokaciji. Parametri koji su
posmatrani bili su prinos zrna (MSY), apsolutna masa semena (SW), zapremina semena (V), gustina semena (BD), dužina klipa (EL),
debljina klipa (ET) i težina klipa (EW). Kalibracijom semena dobijene su tri frakcije semena: sitna, veličine semena 6,5-8,4mm (SF),
krupna, veličine semena 8,5-11mm (KF) i frakcija otpada, veličine semena ispod 6,5mm i iznad 11mm (FW).Prosečan prinos za sve
linije u prvoj godine bio je 6,13 a u drugoj 4,66 t ha-1. Značajan efekat ekoloških uslova bio je i na apsolutnu masu semena (327,56 g
u prvoj; odnosno 251,77 g u drugoj godini). Ovako velika razlika u apsolutnoj masi semena odrazila se i na ukupan odnos sitne (SF)

Assesment of seed quality of different cabbage lots during aging

AB  - The aim of the research was to evaluate the influence of the year and the seed lots on the most important indicators of cabbage seed quality. Quality testing of nine different seed lots of Potomac F1 cabbage was performed during three years (2019, 2020 and 2021). Analyses of variance showed a significant effect (p<0.01) of the year (Y), while seed lot (L) and their interaction (Y × L)
showed a significant effect (p<0.05) on all observed parameters quality (germination energy, total germination, abnormal seedlings and dead seeds). The strongest correlation between the examined parameters was in the first year and weakened in the second and
third years. In the first year as expected, significant positive correlation between germination energy and total germination was found (r = 0.84779, p<0.01). The highly and negative interdependence was achieved between total germination and dead seeds (r = -
0.94363, p<0.001) and abnormal seedlings (r = -0.78019, p<0.05). Also negative interdependence was found between germination energy and dead seeds (r = -0.80000, p<0.01) and abnormal seedlings (r = -0.66144, p<0.05). The germination energy and the total germination of the cabbage seeds considered were found to decrease with the increasing seed age, in contrast to the numbers of their
abnormal seedlings and dead seeds which continued to increase with seed aging. The obtained results indicate that the germination of highly hybrid conventional cabbage seeds decreases significantly during aging, as a direct consequence of a very significant
increase in the number of abnormal seedlings.
AB  - Cilj istraživanja je bio da se izvrši ocena uticaja godine i partije semena na najznačajnije pokazatelje kvaliteta semena kupusa. 
Ispitivanje kvaliteta semena devet različitih partija kupusa Potomak F1, izvedena su tokom tri godine (2019, 2020 i 2021). Analiza
energije klijanja, ukupne klijavosti, nenormalnih klijanaca i mrtvog semena kupusa pokazala je visoko značajne razlike (р<0,01) pod
uticajem faktora godina (Y), dok je uticaj partija semena (L) i interakcija (Y × L) na ispitivane pokazatelje bio na nivou (р<0,05).
Najjače korelacije između ispitivanih parametara kvaliteta semena zabeležene su u prvoj godini i slabile su drugoj i trećoj godini. U
prvoj godini zabeležena je značajna korelacija (r = 0,84779, p<0,01) između energije klijanja i ukupne klijavosti, odnosno u drugoj
godini (r = 0,75057, p≤0,05), dok je u trećoj godini izostala. Visoka negativna međuzavisnost dobijena je između ukupne klijavosti i
mrtvog semena (r = -0,94363, p<0,001) i nenormalnih klijanaca (r = -0,78019, p<0,05). Takođe, negativna korelacija utvrđena je
između energije klijanja i mrtvog semena (r = -0,80000, p<0,01) i nenormalnih klijanaca (r = -0,66144, p<0,05). Zabeleženo je da
se energija klijanja i ukupna klijavost ispitivanog semena kupusa smanjuju sa povećanjem starosti semena, za razliku od broja
nenormalnih klijanaca i mrtvog semena, koji rastu sa starenjem semena. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata možemo konstatovati da se
ukupna klijavost visoko hibridnog konvencionalnog semena kupusa veoma zanačajno smanjuje tokom starenja, kao direktna
posledica veoma značajnog povećanja broja nenormalnih klijanaca.

Uticaj različitog tipa citoplazme na masu 1000 semena

AB  - Hibridi kukuruza dobijaju se ukrštanjem inbred linija, koje nastaju u procesu selekcije kontrolisanom samooplodnjom odabranih genotipova do postizanja homozigotnosti. U proizvodnji semena hibrida kukuruza potrebno je zakidati metlice na majčinskoj komponenti kako ne bi došlo do samooplodnje i smanjenja heterozisa hibrida F1 generacije.
Cilj rada je bio da se utvrdi masa 1000 semena 12 inbred linija sa različitim tipom citoplazme.
Istraživanja su sprovedena na dve pracele: Šlolsko dobro i Selekciono polje u toku dve godine.
Ogledi su postavljeni po slučajnom blok sistemu u okviru svakog tipa citoplazme u tri ponavljanja.
Statističko-biometrijska obrada podataka se zasnivala na srednjim vrednostima po ponavljanju i 
obuhvatila je analizu varijanse. Na osnovu analize varijanse utvrđeno je da postoje veoma značajne razlike između inbred linija na masu 1000 semena u zavisnosti od tipa citoplazme, godine i lokacije. Najmanu prosečnu vrednost mase 1000 semena imala je inbred linija L7 (259,5 g), a najveću inbred linija L1 (394,0 g). Prosečne vrednosti mase 1000 semena inbred linija, veoma značajno su (P≤1%) varirale u zavisnosti od godina ispitivanja i lokacija. Veća vrednost mase 1000 semena imale su inbred linije u drugoj. godini (326,58 g) u odnosu na prvu godinu (298,93 g). Na lokaciji Selekciono polje ostvarena je veća prosečna vrednost (321,62 g) mase 1000 semena u odnosu na lokaciju Školsko dobro (303,90 g). Veoma značajno (Lsd0,01) većuvrednost mase 1000 semena imale su inbred linije sa citoplazmom cms-C tipa u odnosu na inbred linije sa fertilnom i citoplazmom cms-S tipa. Masa 1000 semena inbred linija po godinama veoma značajno (Lsd0,01) se razlikovala kod većine linija osim L4, L10 i L12 gde nije bilo razlike.
U zavisnosti od tipa citoplazme i godina ispitivanja veoma značajne (Lsd0,01) razlike mase 1000 semena nisu utvrđene samo kod inbred linija L4 i L11.Prosečne vrednosti mase 1000 semena inbred linija po lokacijama su se veoma značajno (Lsd0,01) razlikovale kod inbred linija: L1, L2, L5, L8, L9 i L10 dok kod ostalih šest ispitivanih linija nisu utvrđene razlike.Između inbred linija sa različitim tipovima citoplazme utvrđene su značajne (Lsd0,05) razlike u masi 1000 semena po ispitivanim lokacijama. Linije istog tipa citoplazme dale su veću masu 1000 semena 
na prvoj nego na drugoj lokaciji.Godine ispitivanja i lokacije veoma značajno su uticale na masu 1000 semena. Najveću prosečnu vrednost mase 1000 semena ostvarile su inbred linije u drugoj godini na prvoj lokaciji  Interakcija inbred linija x godina x lokacija je bila statistički značajna(Lsd0,05). Prosečna masa 1000 semena kod L4 nije se značajno razlikovala u zavisnosti od godina i lokacija ispitivanja. Ostale ispitivane inbred linije imale su veoma značajna variranja mase 1000 semena u različitim uslovima spoljašnje sredine

abstract = "Hibridi kukuruza dobijaju se ukrštanjem inbred linija, koje nastaju u procesu selekcije kontrolisanom samooplodnjom odabranih genotipova do postizanja homozigotnosti. U proizvodnji semena hibrida kukuruza potrebno je zakidati metlice na majčinskoj komponenti kako ne bi došlo do samooplodnje i smanjenja heterozisa hibrida F1 generacije.
Cilj rada je bio da se utvrdi masa 1000 semena 12 inbred linija sa različitim tipom citoplazme.
Istraživanja su sprovedena na dve pracele: Šlolsko dobro i Selekciono polje u toku dve godine.
Ogledi su postavljeni po slučajnom blok sistemu u okviru svakog tipa citoplazme u tri ponavljanja.
Statističko-biometrijska obrada podataka se zasnivala na srednjim vrednostima po ponavljanju i 
obuhvatila je analizu varijanse. Na osnovu analize varijanse utvrđeno je da postoje veoma značajne razlike između inbred linija na masu 1000 semena u zavisnosti od tipa citoplazme, godine i lokacije. Najmanu prosečnu vrednost mase 1000 semena imala je inbred linija L7 (259,5 g), a najveću inbred linija L1 (394,0 g). Prosečne vrednosti mase 1000 semena inbred linija, veoma značajno su (P≤1%) varirale u zavisnosti od godina ispitivanja i lokacija. Veća vrednost mase 1000 semena imale su inbred linije u drugoj. godini (326,58 g) u odnosu na prvu godinu (298,93 g). Na lokaciji Selekciono polje ostvarena je veća prosečna vrednost (321,62 g) mase 1000 semena u odnosu na lokaciju Školsko dobro (303,90 g). Veoma značajno (Lsd0,01) većuvrednost mase 1000 semena imale su inbred linije sa citoplazmom cms-C tipa u odnosu na inbred linije sa fertilnom i citoplazmom cms-S tipa. Masa 1000 semena inbred linija po godinama veoma značajno (Lsd0,01) se razlikovala kod većine linija osim L4, L10 i L12 gde nije bilo razlike.
U zavisnosti od tipa citoplazme i godina ispitivanja veoma značajne (Lsd0,01) razlike mase 1000 semena nisu utvrđene samo kod inbred linija L4 i L11.Prosečne vrednosti mase 1000 semena inbred linija po lokacijama su se veoma značajno (Lsd0,01) razlikovale kod inbred linija: L1, L2, L5, L8, L9 i L10 dok kod ostalih šest ispitivanih linija nisu utvrđene razlike.Između inbred linija sa različitim tipovima citoplazme utvrđene su značajne (Lsd0,05) razlike u masi 1000 semena po ispitivanim lokacijama. Linije istog tipa citoplazme dale su veću masu 1000 semena 
na prvoj nego na drugoj lokaciji.Godine ispitivanja i lokacije veoma značajno su uticale na masu 1000 semena. Najveću prosečnu vrednost mase 1000 semena ostvarile su inbred linije u drugoj godini na prvoj lokaciji  Interakcija inbred linija x godina x lokacija je bila statistički značajna(Lsd0,05). Prosečna masa 1000 semena kod L4 nije se značajno razlikovala u zavisnosti od godina i lokacija ispitivanja. Ostale ispitivane inbred linije imale su veoma značajna variranja mase 1000 semena u različitim uslovima spoljašnje sredine",

AB  - Cereals, particularly wheat, are staple food of the people from the Balkans, dating back
to the Neolithic age. In Serbia, cereals are predominantly grown in its northern part between 44 
and 45.5  N of the Pannonian Plain. One of the most economically important nematodes on wheat
is the cereal cyst nematode, Heterodera filipjevi. Cysts of H. filipjevi survive in soil for years and
shelter a large number of microorganisms. The aims of this study were to investigate the diversity of
mycobiota associated with the cereal cyst nematode H. filipjevi, to infer phylogenetic relationships of
the found mycobiota, and to explore the ecological connection between fungi and the field history,
including the potential of fungi in bioremediation and the production of novel bioactive compounds.
Cysts were isolated from soil samples with a Spears apparatus and collected on a 150- m sieve. The
cysts were placed on potato dextrose agar, and maintained for two weeks at 27 C. Following fungal
isolation and colony growing, the fungal DNA was extracted, the ITS region was amplified, and
PCR products were sequenced. The study showed that the isolated fungal species belong to diverse
phyla, including Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, and Mucoromycota. Ascomycota is represented by
the families Clavicipitaceae, Sarocladiaceae, Nectriaceae, and Phaeosphaeriaceae. Basidiomycota
is represented by the families Cerrenaceae, Polyporaceae, Phanerochaetaceae, and Meruliaceae,
and the order Cantharellales. The family Mortierellaceae represents Mucoromycota. The members
of Ascomycota and Basidiomycota both depict the field history. Ascomycota indicate the fungal
infection is of recent origin, while Basidiomycota point toward the preceding host plants, enabling
the plant field colonization history to be traced chronologically.

AB  - Seed quality is crucial for achieving the desired number of plants in the mixture, as well as the ratio of grass-legume components.
Seeds of red clover and Italian ryegrass can be placed on the market with germination of 70 % and more. In this experiment, the
seeds of six varieties of red clover and four varieties of Italian lily were examined. Seeds up to four years of age were tested. Seed
quality was examined by monitoring the following parameters: germination energy, amount of hard-dormant seed, total germination
and amount of abnormal seedlings. The tested varieties of red clover and Italian ryegrass seeds showed the best quality after one and
two years of storage. After four years of storing seeds, out of six tested varieties of red clover, two did not meet the criteria for
marketing in Serbia, according to the current rulebook on seed quality. In the case of Italian ryegrass, out of four tested varieties,
two did not meet the criteria for placing seeds on the market.
AB  - Crvena detelina i italijanski ljulj se često gaje u smeši. Kvalitet semena je od presudnog značaja za ostvarenje željenog
brojabiljaka u smeši, kao i odnosa travno-leguminoznih komponenti. Za zasnivanje useva se može koristiti seme različite starosti koje
zadovoljava kriterijume kvaliteta za stavljanje u promet. Seme crvene deteline i italijanskog ljulja može se stavljati u promet sa
klijavošću od 70 % i više. U ovom eksperimentu, ispitivano je seme različite dužine skladištenja: šest sorti crvene deteline i četiri
sorte italijanskog ljulja. Ispitivana su semena starosti do četiri godine. Kvalitet semena je ispitivan praćenjem sledećih parametara:
energija klijanja, količina tvrdog-dormantnog semena, ukupna klijavost i broj nenormalnih klijanaca. Ispitivane sorte semena crvene
deteline i italijanskog ljulja su pokazale najbolji kvalitet nakon jedne i dve godine čuvanja. Nakon četire godine čuvanja se mena, od
šest ispitivanih sorti crvene deteline, dve nisu zadovoljile kriterijume za stavljenje u promet u Srbiji, prema važećem pravilniku o
kvalitetu semena. Kod italijanskog ljulja, od četiti ispitivane sorte, dve nisu zadovoljile kriterijume za stavljanje semena u promet

Quality assessment of hybrid maize seeds according to their shape and size

AB  - Maize seed is characterised by a variety of shapes and sizes, which directly or indirectly affect physiological properties. The aim
of the present study was to establish the significance of the seed shape and size on the first count and germination. The following
eight hybrids were used as a seed material in the trial: ZP196, ZP260, ZP341, ZP360, ZP434, ZP677, ZP684 and ZP704. The traits of
seed shape and size were observed under laboratory conditions. The seed mass, the first count and germination were determined. The
genotype and the seed fraction significantly affected the variance of seed mass formation, R2≥0,911, while the significance of these
factors for the first count and germination was small with the coefficient of determination of R2≤0.129 and≤0.298, respectively. The
first count and germination were high (above 95%) in all sizes and all shapes of seeds. The lowest first count and germination were
detected in SO (94.2; 95.1, respectively), while the highest values were determined in SSP (97.1; 98.0, respectively). The importance
of seed germination was determined by the analysis of variance (p<0.05).
AB  - Seme kukuruza odlikuje se raznovrsošću oblika i veličina, koje po srednoilineposrednoutičuna fiziološke osobine. Ciljrada je bio
da se utvrdi značaj oblika i veličine semenana energiju I klijavost semena. U ogledu kao semenski material korišćeno je osam hibrida
(ZP196, ZP260, ZP341, ZP360, ZP434, ZP 677, ZP684, ZP704. U laboratorijskim uslovima posmatrane su osobine oblika i veličine
seme. Izvojeno je četiri frakcija SP. SO. SSP, SSO. Od osobina određena je masa semena, energija klijanja, klijavost. Genotip i
frakcija semena imale su značajnog uticaja na varijansu formiranja mase semena R2≥0,911, dok za energiju i klijavost značaj ovih
faktora je mali sa koeficijentom determinacije R 2≤0,129 odnosnoR2≤0,298. Struktura semena na klipu podeljena u frakcije ukazuje na
veće prisustvo sinih frakcija u odnosu na srednje sitne, a po obliku ujenačenije su pljosnate frakcije, izmeđukojih ne postoj i statistička
značajnost. Energija klijanja i klijavost semena kod svih veličina i oblika semena je visoka iznad 95%. Najmanja energija i klijavost
je za seme SO (94,2; 95,1), a najveća za seme SSP (97,1;98,0).Istraživanja su pokazala da podele semena po frakcijama ima značaja
radi ujednačavanja semenskog materijala i jedan je od osnovnih uslova za dobru semensku i merkantilnu proizvodnju. Naročito je
značajno u prvim fazama razvitka klijanaca, što kasnije ima uticaja na prinos useva.

two locations. Seeds for laboratory testing were divided into six fractions (SP, SO, SSP, SSO, KP,
KO) and after that working samples of 10x100 seeds were formed. Under laboratory conditions, the
following seed traits were analysed: 1000-seed dry weight prior to germination (M2), seedling dry
waight (M3), ensosperm dry weight afret to germination (M1), seed emergence (IV), germination
rate. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in seedling dry weight and endosperm
dry weight after to germination according to seeds fraction and hybrid combination. The averge of
1000- seed dry weight in both hybrids is 315.0 g. The weight of the M3 ranged between 17.7 g. and
19.9 g. The difference in M3 between seeds of different sizes is significant for SP and all other
fractions except for KP. M1 ranged from 235.5g. do 360.0 g. M1 differed significantly between SP,
SO, KP, and KO. M1 and M2 did not influence the formation of the sedling dry weight. Ek differs
according to the shape of the seed, the seed of flat fractions has an energy> 80%, while the seed of
round fractions is <77%. The rate of seed germination ranged from 84-100%. Flat fractions had
more affected rate germination than round ones. The hybrid combination and seed fraction was
statistically significant for all observed traits. The effect of genotype x location and genotype x
fraction interactions was the most important on the formation of seed weight. Sedling seed is the
first stage in the formation of a seed crop. The rate of seed sedling formation and its weight are
important aspects of the success of further production

od ekoloških uslova sredine. Materijal korišćen u ovim istraživanjima su hibridi kukuruza iz grupe

AB  - The aim of this study was to observe effects of the sowing date on the relationships among
morphological properties of maize ears. The trial was set up in Zemun Polje in 2019 and
encompassed five sowing dates with the initial one on April 1, and then on every 10 days until
May 10 (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5). Three inbred lines (L1, L2, L3) were used as a material. During
sowing, seeds were classified according to their size into small (6.5-8.4 mm), large (8.5-11 mm)
and the primary seed fraction (6.5-11 mm). The parameters for the following morphological ear
traits were determined under laboratory conditions: ear weight, ear length, ear thickness, cob
weight and the grain yield. Obtained results indicated the significant contribution of all factors in
expression of observed traits, as well as the significance of the interactions. The inbred L1 was
the most stable genotype for the ear weight and the cob weight. The ear length and the ear
thickness varied the least in all genotypes. The initial sowing dates (S1 and S2) were the most
important for the ear weight. The third sowing date was the most important for the ear length
(19.81cm) and the ear thickness (5.94cm). The highest cob weight was recorded in plants sown
on the fifth sowing date (S5). The LSD tests showed that the differences in the morphological
traits of ears of different sowing dates were significant between S5 and the remaining four
sowing dates (p<0.05). Various fractions used in sowing affected all traits.

In agriculture, these changes are recognised as drought, high temperatures, occurrence of stormy winds and hail. The aim of this study was to determine variations in seed morphology that are a result of different sowing dates in relation with agro- ecological conditions of maize (Zea mays L.) cultivation. The material used for the study encompassed three inbred lines (G1, G2, G3) sown every 10 d on five sowing dates (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5) starting from 1 April to 10 May, during 2 yr (Y1: 2018, Y2: 2019). The following physical properties of seeds were estimated: width (W), length (L), thickness (Tk), ratio of small (SF) to large fraction (LF) and grain yield (GY). The width was the highest in all three inbreeds on T4 (1.00, 1.03, 0.99 cm, respectively); T5 was the least favourable date for L (1.09, 1.12, 1.09 cm, respectively) while Tk was the lowest in G1 (0.51 cm) and G2 (0.51 cm) sown on T1. The most significant differences in the formation of physical properties occurred in seeds sown on T5 (p ≤ 0.05). The highest differences were observed in width between T5-T4 (-0.223 cm), in length between T5-T2 (-0.309 cm) and in thickness between T5-T3 (-0.129 cm). Later sowing dates favoured LF (85.2%) in comparison to SF (14.7%). Seed size variability participated with 50% in yield formation (R2 ≥ 0.5).

AB  - Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) and Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) are in the
conditions of Serbia, according to many researches and experiences from practice, the most
productive and highest quality grass-leguminous mixture for fodder production on more fertile
soils. Both species can be sown as pure crops. But sowing and growing in a mixture is better
because of the well-known benefits of growing legumes (which are nitrogen fixers) and grasses
(which have a pronounced need for nitrogen). Studies have shown that these species grown in a
mixture also have a positive effect on soil biogenicity. They also have a positive effect on the
reduction of weeds in relation to the cultivation of these fodder plants in pure culture.
The initial crop density in all plants, especially dense plants, is achieved by the amount of
germinating seeds in the establishment. For sowing in a mixture, the ratio between the number of
leguminous plants and grasses is important for achieving the desired ratio in the mixture (legumes:
grass).. The ratio in the mixture determines the yield and quality of the feed. Namely, it is generally
known that the legume component is of better quality and that the grass component is more

Srbije po mnogim istraživanjima i iskustvima iz prakse najproduktivnija i najkvalitetnija travaleguminozna smeša za proizvodnju krme na plodnijim zemljištima.Obe vrste mogu se sejati kao
čisti usevi. Ali je setva i gajenje u smeši bolja zbog dobro poznatih benefita gajanja leguminoza,
(koje su azotofiksataori) i trava, (koje imaju izražene zahteve za azotom). Ispitivanja su pokazala da
ove vrste gajene u smeši pozitivno utiču i na biogenost zemljišta. Takođe pozitivno utiču i na
smanjenje korova u odnosu na gajenje ovih krmnih biljka u čistoj kulturi.
Početna gustina useva se kod svih biljaka, a posebno gustorednih, postiže količinom klijavog
semena u zasnivanju. Za setvu u smeši udnos između broja biljaka leguminiza i trava je značajan za

krme. Naime opšte je poznato da je leguminozna komponenta kvalitetnija a da je travna
komponenta produktivnija. Ne sumljivo je da je klijavost semena najvažniji pokazatelj kvaliteta
semena. Te da je cilj da što je moguće duže se održi visok kvalitete semena-klijavost tokom perioda
čuvanja semen. Ali je i realnost da seme tokom čuvanja postiže maksimalni kvalitet-klijavosti a
zatim sledi perod starenja semena što neminovno vodi ka smanjenju klijavosti što je za svaku vrstu
različito. Naravno za očuvanje klijavosti od visog značaja su i anbijentalni uslovui u komjima je
seme čuvano.
Cilj ovih ispitavanja je bio da se tokom pet godina čuvanja ispita kvalitet semena preko pokazatelja:
energije klijanja i ukupne klijavosti. U ogledi je korišćeno seme četiri sorte crvene dateline : K-17,

grass).. The ratio in the mixture determines the yield and quality of the feed. Namely, it is generally
known that the legume component is of better quality and that the grass component is more

Diversity of Mycobiota Associated with the Cereal Cyst Nematode Heterodera filipjevi Originating from Some Localities of the Pannonian Plain in Serbia

AB  - Cereals, particularly wheat, are staple food of the people from the Balkans, dating back
to the Neolithic age. In Serbia, cereals are predominantly grown in its northern part between 44◦
and 45.5◦ N of the Pannonian Plain. One of the most economically important nematodes on wheat
is the cereal cyst nematode, Heterodera filipjevi. Cysts of H. filipjevi survive in soil for years and
shelter a large number of microorganisms. The aims of this study were to investigate the diversity of
mycobiota associated with the cereal cyst nematode H. filipjevi, to infer phylogenetic relationships of
the found mycobiota, and to explore the ecological connection between fungi and the field history,
including the potential of fungi in bioremediation and the production of novel bioactive compounds.
Cysts were isolated from soil samples with a Spears apparatus and collected on a 150-µm sieve. The
cysts were placed on potato dextrose agar, and maintained for two weeks at 27◦C. Following fungal
isolation and colony growing, the fungal DNA was extracted, the ITS region was amplified, and
PCR products were sequenced. The study showed that the isolated fungal species belong to diverse
phyla, including Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, and Mucoromycota. Ascomycota is represented by
the families Clavicipitaceae, Sarocladiaceae, Nectriaceae, and Phaeosphaeriaceae. Basidiomycota
is represented by the families Cerrenaceae, Polyporaceae, Phanerochaetaceae, and Meruliaceae,
and the order Cantharellales. The family Mortierellaceae represents Mucoromycota. The members
of Ascomycota and Basidiomycota both depict the field history. Ascomycota indicate the fungal
infection is of recent origin, while Basidiomycota point toward the preceding host plants, enabling
the plant field colonization history to be traced chronologically

AB  - The aim of this study was to establish the effect of different seed treatments on germination

of  the  embryonic  stem  and  the  radicle  of  tomato  and  pepper  varieties.  Four  treatments  were  used  in  the  
study: MIX [(Coveron + zinc (Zn 0.5%) + boron (B 0.025%)]; Coveron; zinc (ZnSO

(B 0.025%). The treatments were applied on seeds of following four pepper varieties: Šorokšari, Somborka, 
Kraljica, and Mirtima and three tomato varieties: Rio Grande, Saint Pierre, and Tomato apple of Novi Sad 
(Novosadski jabučar). Germination and the growth increase of both the embryonic stem (cm) and the radicle 
(cm) were observed in the germination cabinets and pots containing soil in two laboratories – locations. Af-
ter the treatment applied to the pepper seeds and testing in the laboratory germination cabinet the following 
was established: i) the maximum increase in germination of 90% was when the MIX and Zn treatment was 
applied to seeds, ii) the growth increase of embryonic stems of 2.7 cm was recorded when the MIX treatment 
was applied, iii) the growth increase of radicles of 1.7 cm was gained when the Coveron and MIX treatment 
was applied. Tests performed in pots showed that Coveron was the most efficient treatment. Treatments on 
tomato seeds during the seed testing in the germination cabinet provided: vi) the germination increase of 13% 
with the MIX treatment, vii) the growth increase of the embryonic stem of 2.6 cm with the same treatment, 
vii) the growth increase of 1.7 cm of radicles. Coveron was the most efficient treatment in tests in pots.

AB  - The paper presents the seed production technologies of maize sown on three different sowing dates. Seeds of three maize inbred
lines (L1, L2, L3) were used as a seed material in the location of Zemun Polje in 2018. The objectives of the present study was to
determine the importance of different sowing dates as a method to overcome stressful conditions caused by unfavourable
environmental factors, as well as to point out to a significance of the seed size in sowing. Effects of the following factors were
observed in relation to emergence and the maize grain yield: sowing date (SD), seed fraction (LF, SF and PF) and genotype (L). The
gained results indicate that the lowest percentage of emergence was determined in the variant L2/SD2/SF (34%), while the highest

AB  - U radu je prikazana tehnologija semenske proizvodnje kukuruza sa tri različita datuma setve. Kao semenski materijal koriščeno
je seme tri smooplodne linije L1, L2, L3 na lokaciji Zemun Polje u 2018 godini. Cilj rada je bio utvrđivanje značaja primene

proizvodnji zrna vrlo je značajna za procenat niklih semena, kao i njegova interakciji sa frakcijom i genotipom. Ukupan doprinos
faktora u varijansi nicanja semena je preko 50% R=0,678. Na varijansu prinosa efekat je slabijeg intenziteta i iznosi R=0,490.
Razlike dobijene primenom različitih varijanti u proizvodnji semenskog materija ukazuju na značaj delovanja faktora i njihovo
dalje istraživanje.

AB  - Climate changes are one of the crucial issues of modern agriculture. These changes
imply the increase in average temperatures and the frequent occurrence of temperature
extremes. Such conditions are stressful to maize concerning the expression of its traits.
This paper presents the analysis of the maize yield concerning the yield components,
morphological and chemical traits under various agroecological conditions. The
objective of the study was to evaluate variability of grain yield (GY) and yield
components (ear length, EL and number of kernel rows, NKR), morphological traits
(plant height,PH and ear height, EH), as well as chemical traits (the whole plant dry
matter, PDM and the ear dry matter, EDM), and the effect of the environment on the
intensity of expression of these traits. Fifteen genotypes developed by crossing of six
inbred lines were used as a material in the study carried out during the two-year period
in one location. Obtained results indicate that traits were more pronounced in maize
hybrids than in the parental components including the lower variability of the traits
expression. NKR did not affect the yield unlike the EL, whose coefficient of
determination was R2 = 0.600 in both production years. The environmental effect was
high for all traits except NKR. PDM and EDM were closely related to PH and EH, but
they also depended on the EL and the NKR.Variations in meteorological conditions have a significant impact on the final goal of
the production, the yield. Prevailing agro-ecological conditions should be a major
guideline in planning the crop production and selecting the genetic material.

AB  - Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj različitog tipa citoplazme (cms-C, cms-S
i fertilna) i vanjske sredine na frakciju sjemena srednje krupno pjlosnato dvanaestinbred linija kukuruza.
Pokus je proveden tijekom 2017. i 2018. godine na dvije lokacije po metodici slučajnog bloknog rasporeda u tri ponavljanja, a statistička obrada podataka analizom varijance. Analizom varijanse utvrđeno je da postoje veoma značajne razlike između inbred linija u frakciji sjemena srednje krupno pljosnato (SKP) u zavisnosti od tipa citoplazme, godine i lokacije. Prosječni udjel frakcije sjemena srednje krupno pljosnato (SKP) značajno je varirao (P≤5%) u zavisnosti od tipa citoplazme. Najveći udjel frakcije sjemena srednje krupno pljosnato imala je sterilna citoplazma cms-C (7,0%), a najmanji fertilna citoplazma (6,5%). Srednje vrijednosti SKP frakcije sjemena inbred linija veoma značajno (P≤1%) su varirale u zavisnosti od godina ispitivanja i lokacija. Veću zastupljenost SKP frakcije sjemena imale su inbred linije u 2017. godini (7,75%) u odnosu na 2018. godinu (5,69%), kao i na lokaciji Selekciono polje (7,17%) u odnosu na lokaciju Školsko dobro (6,28%). 
Analiza dobivenih rezultata ukazuje na značajan utjecaj tipa citoplazme na srednje krupnu plosnatu frakciju sjemena.

The trial with inbred lines was set up in 2017 and 2018 at two locations according to the randomised block design in three replication. Statistical data processing was done by analysis of variance. Very significant differences in the medium large flat seed fraction (MLF) among inbred lines, in dependence on the type of cytoplasm, year and the location were established. The average percent of the MLF seed fraction significantly varied (P≤5%) in respect of cytoplasm type. The highest and the lowest values of this trait were established in sterile cytoplasm cms-C (7.0%), and fertile cytoplasm (6.5%), respectively. The medium values of the MLF seed fraction very significantly (P≤1%) varied in dependence on the year and location. fraction of the maize inbred lines depending on the cytoplasm type. The studies encompassed 12 
inbred lines with different types of cytoplasm (cms-C, cms-S and fertile) that were tested in two 
locations (Selection Field and Školsko dobro) during 2015 and 2016. The three-replicate trials were 
set up according to randomised complete-block design within each type of cytoplasm. The analysis 
of variance indicated that the cytoplasm type was a decisive factor in the expression of the seed 
fraction - medium large round (MLR).. The highest, i.e. lowest value of this trait, on average, was 
recorded in the inbred line L1 (47.9%), i.e. L7 (1.4%), respectively. The average percent of the MLR 
seed fraction significantly varied (P≤5%) in respect of the observed cytoplasm type. The highest 
and the lowest values of this trait were established in sterile cytoplasm cms-C (13.8%), and fertile 
cytoplasm (12.8%), respectively. The medium values of the MLR seed fraction very significantly 
(P≤1%) varied in dependence on the year and location of investigation. The greater proportion of 
the MLR seed fraction was determined in maize inbred in 2015 (19.4%) than in 2016 (7.5%), as 
well as in the location of Selection Field (14.4%) than in Školsko dobro (12.5%). The analysis of 
obtained results point out to a significant effect of the cytoplasm type on the medium large round 
seed fraction

the MLR seed fraction was determined in maize inbred in 2015 (19.4%) than in 2016 (7.5%), as 
well as in the location of Selection Field (14.4%) than in Školsko dobro (12.5%). The analysis of 
obtained results point out to a significant effect of the cytoplasm type on the medium large round

AB  - Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench.) seed, produced in three locations, was used in the present
study. Seed was stored in paper, glass, wood and PVC packing materials under room temperature conditions (18°C) for
five years. The following parameters of seed quality were observed: viability, germination, dormancy and a 1000-seed
weight. Standard laboratory methods were applied in the studies. The lowest viability after harvest was recorded in
seeds stored in glass or PVC packing materials. All factors pointed to a great significance in the expression of viability,
germination and seed weight maintenance. The highest value of germination (99%) was recorded in seeds produced
in the location Karbulovo after two-year storage in the paper packing material. In the second year of storage, seed
dormancy in paper packing material amounted to 0–0.1%. The seed weight changed during the storage period from
33.9 g to 24.4 g. The weight loss was the lowest in seeds stored in the paper packing material. The germination decline
was slower in large than in small seeds. Obtained results indicate the importance of packing material for maintenance
of seed qualitative traits. According to the gained results, seeds packed in paper packing material mostly retained
their physiological and morphological traits

Trait dispersion of hybrid maize seed under different production conditions

AB  - This paper presents the results of an analysis of maize seed production. A total of six hybrids were selected from two maturity groups (FAO 300 and FAO 600) produced in three locations (L1, L2, L3). The following commercially important seed traits and their variability were analyzed: 1000-seed mass and germination. The average 1000-seed mass of all the parameters examined amounted to 342.8 g, whereas the minimum and maximum masses recorded were 285.7 g and 370.5 g, respectively. In the FAO 300 hybrids, a 60:30 ratio of large to small seed fractions was recorded. Conversely, this ratio in the FAO 600 hybrids was not uniform. Seed germination of the hybrids examined was high (above 90 %). The highest effect on trait variability was recorded in the hybrid combination (η2 = 0.889 - seed mass, and η2 = 0.456 - germination). Trait variations across locations and hybrid combinations are important for obtaining high yields and realizing the maximum potential of seed material.
AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati analize proizvodnje semenskog kukuruza. Iz proizvodnje su odabrani sledeći hibridi: ZP 333, ZP 341, ZP 360, ZP 600, ZP 606 i ZP 666; dve grupe zrenja (FAO 300 i 600), proizvedenih na tri lokaliteta (L1, L2, L3). Analize su rađene na osobine semena koje su važne komercijalne karakteristike - apsolutna masa semena i klijavost, a koje zavise od uslova proizvodnje i vremenskih uslova godine, te je njihova varijabilnost manja ili veća u zavisnosti od ovih faktora. Varijabilnast i korelacija dve pomenute osobine su posmatrani na semenu proizvedenom u 2015. godini. Seme je podeljeno prema masi na krupnu (8,5-11 mm) i sitnu frakciju (6,5-8,5 mm). Prosečna masa 1000 semena za sve posmatrane parametre iznosila je 342,8 g, minimalana 285,7 g i maximalna 370,5 g. Hibridi grupe zrenja 300 karakterisali su se većim procentom krupne frakcije: odnos za hibride iz ove grupe bio je 60% krupne i 30% sitne frakcije. Grupa zrenja 600 nema ujednačen odnos frakcija između hibrida. Klijavost za sve posmatrane hibride bila je visoka - iznad 90%, uz mali broj uzoraka čija vrednost je bila ispod standardizovanog procenta. Varijabilnost u ispoljavanju osobina između lokaliteta bila je veoma značajna (p lt  0,05). Najveći efekat na varijabilnost osobina imala je hibridna kombinacija (η2=0,889 na masu i η2=0,456 na klijavost) a zatim interakcija hibridne kombinacije sa lokalitetom (η2=0,621 na masu i η2=0,623 na klijavost). Frakcija nije imala statističke značajnosti u ispoljavanju klijavosti semena (η2=0,020). AB  - Plava lucerka (Medicago sativa L.) je zbog svih svojih osobina najvažnija krmna biljka u 
našoj zemlji. Veliki značaj lucerke se ogleda u proizvodnji kvalitetne kabaste hrane, ali je i 
seme lucerke vredna i kurentna roba na domaćem i inostranom tržištu. Areal gajenja lucerke 
je na svim kontinentima u više od 80 zemalja, od umereno hladnog do tropskog pojasa. Široka 
geografska rasprostranjenost lucerke uslovljena je njenom velikom adaptabilnošću na različite 
klimatske i zemljišne uslove. Zasnivanje useva krmnih biljaka vrši se direktnom setvom
semena. Obzirom na te okolnosti, brza i uniformna pojava snaznih klijanaca lucerke je veoma 
značajna kako bi se osigurala visoka uniformnost klijanaca, što utiče na početnu fazu razvoja 
useva, a kao rezultat svega je visok i stabilan prinos. Sve ovo ukazuje na važnost izbora 
semena dobrog kvaliteta.U ovom radu je ispitivan uticaj starosti semena na kvalitet tri 
različite sorte lucerke (Kruševačka 28, NS-Banat i Čačanka-10). Seme ispitivanih sorata 
lucerke čuvano je pet godina u papirnim kesama u kontrolisanim uslovima temperature i 
relativne vlažnosti vazduha. Zatim je ispitivana klijavost semena različitih sorata lucerke 
starosti pet godina u klijalistu na temperaturi od 20o
C u mraku, deset dana (prema Pravilniku 
o ispitivanju kvaliteta semena poljoprivrednog bilja 47/87). Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju da je 
starost semena značajno uticala na ukupnu klijavost, nenormalne klijance, tvrdo i mrtvo seme. 
Najveća klijavost je ostvarena iz semena starog dve godine, pri tome uticaj sorte je takodje 
statistički značajno delovao na ukupnu klijavost, kao i interakcija starost semena x sorta 
(P≤0,05).
